Mr. Damber Bahadur (DB) Thapa, was a man with a passion for photography and a grand vision. He learned photography in Calcutta and earned enough money to buy his first Mamiya Super 23 camera in 1960. He then brought that back to Kathmandu to start his own photo studio, by the peepal bot in New Road.
Photo Concern was established by Mr. Damber Bahadur Thapa in 1960, in New Road, Kathmandu, Nepal. DB Thapa was just 10 years of age when he fled his old hometown Dhading and came to Kathmandu. He was ambitious from a young age, and wanted to explore his creative side. He wanted the entire photography industry to flourish while helping others cherish memories.
Photo Concern team is passionate about getting the highest quality prints from your images. This paired with our personalized service makes your visit very worthwhile.
Photo Concern’s legacy is carried on by Ms. Srijana Thapa, the granddaughter of Mr. DB Thapa. With a rich history of over 60 years, the brand has had a significant impact on the lives of Nepalis, and continues to evoke nostalgia for all generations.
